Big Rock Alpaca Farm

Big Rock Alpaca Farm has been in business since 2003, when we got the opportunity to move out to the country. We’re located in South Central PA,?an?easy drive from?Gettysburg, Harrisburg, York and Carlisle. We also sell products made from alpaca fiber.

We love the alpaca fiber and products made from the fiber. Being 5 to 7 times warmer than wool, and not scratchy like wool are just two of the many virtues of alpaca fiber. The socks are wonderful to wear when there is snow to be shoveled, working in the pasture or a more fun activity, sledding.

We raise the rare suri alpaca, which have the fiber that forms into locks and hangs down along the body. Most people are familiar with the huacaya alpaca which has fiber with some crimp in it that gives it some body. The suri fiber is much like silk, it has even be called the second smoothest natural fiber after silk.

We welcome visitors to the farm, just give us a call to schedule a visit. We also do an open house in the fall, so check back for dates when this will be happening.
